Our Purpose
Tiger Canyon is a privately owned South African game reserve with the grand purpose of contributing to global efforts to save the wild tiger from extinction.
During the last century alone, the Asian tiger has lost 95% of its historical range to human activity, making the creation of alternative wildernesses imperative to the survival of this magnificent Big Cat.
As one of the first reserves in the world to successfully establish an ex-situ population of wild tigers outside of Asia, we are leading the charge.

Global Leaders in Rewilding
We are, of course, equally passionate about the conservation of local species. Tiger Canyon was the first reserve to reintroduce wild cheetah to the Free State province after a 100-year absence. We have also witnessed a phenomenal revival of biodiversity on our property. What was once monoculture farmland, is now a sanctuary for a wealth of endemic and indigenous life forms, great and small.
